Dealing with art is more like a passion than a job for Nikolaus Leskovar and his life and business partner Silvia Schuster. When he was younger and working for the family business, he was already drawn to the colourful world of art. It was Pop Art that fully captured him and hasn't let him go ever since. Pop Art was the total opposite of the literally grey and tough everyday life in the parents' hardware shop: Pop Art is colourful, shrill and most of all: beautiful. It has always been the beauty and joy of the special things in life that fascinated him about art. Nikolaus Leskovar lives for art – and you will feel and see this when you get to talk to him. His dream, to work with art, came true in Graz, where he was able to gain his first experiences in a gallery at Stadtpark. There came, however, a point when he had to move on and open his own gallery. In the heart of Salzburg's old town he opened CONTEMPO FINE ART with his partner Silvia Schuster. He ran his business successfully for years and his clients included the “Who is Who” of the Salzburg Festival society – he has stayed in close connection with his clients from then over the years. Traders and collectors often become companions, bonding over the same level of excitement about art and mutual trust. The personal relationship between both is essential when working together.
